Real Madrid left back, Gabriel Heinze believes it would be difficult for the Spanish giants to prise Cristiano Ronaldo away from Old Trafford while Alex Ferguson is still in charge at Old Trafford.
Media speculation in Spain continues to link the newly-crowed Primera Liga champions with Ronaldo, who has enjoyed a remarkable season with the Red Devils, who could yet complete a Premier League and Champions League double.

But while the Spanish press might be optimistic about a successful swoop for Ronaldo, Heinze, who knows the Portugal winger well from his time at United, is less convinced about his former team-mate moving to the Bernabeu anytime soon.
“I talk with him (Ronaldo) all the time and I tell him how great this club is and the nice things that Madrid has, but I know that is very difficult for him to come because he has a coach who had trust in him when he was younger,” Heinze told Radio Marca.
“Whilst Ferguson is at United it is very difficult. He is a fundamental part of their plans.”

Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster is certain that they will eventually sign Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I need to be realistic,” Schuster declared. “I know that Manchester United do not want to sell him at the moment because right now he is the best player in the world.
“He has already proved he is better than Kaka, because the Brazilian has not had a good season with Milan.
“And I do believe that in the future, Ronaldo will wear the white shirt of Real at El Santiago Bernabeu and play for us.”

Real Madrid have conceded defeat in the battle to prise Cristiano Ronaldo away from Manchester United.
The Spanish giants accept United will not sell the Portuguese ace at any price.
Real president Ramon Calderon said: “Ronaldo belongs completely to the Mancunians. United have no intention of selling him at whatever price. We have to accept their decision.”
The Spanish champions wanted Ronaldo to lead a rennaissance at the Bernabeu and were ready to offer United a world-record fee and make the 23-year-old the best-paid player in football.
But while Ronaldo harbours an ambition to play in La Liga, he is only 12 months into a five-year contract and speculation of interest from Real and Barcelona has failed to unsettle him.
Real’s retreat will come as a huge relief to Sir Alex Ferguson. The United boss has been adamant the winger is not for sale - and he has been backed fully by the club. But there were still worries inside Old Trafford that Ronaldo could have his head turned at Euro 2008.
He came close to asking for a move two years ago when he became Public Enemy No.1 in England following his role in Wayne Rooney’s sending-off at the World Cup. Ferguson and assistant Carlos Queiroz managed to persuade Ronaldo to stay.
